Law Enforcement Officer

Under the guidance of the Operations Corporal, the Deputy Sheriff is essential in upholding safety and order within the community. Responsibilities assigned by the Corporal, Sergeants, Lieutenant, Chief Deputy, and Sheriff encompass various duties including courtroom security, prisoner transport, warrant execution, and civil process management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old
- While not mandatory, preference will be given to those certified as a law enforcement officer under PA Act 120 or as a Deputy Sheriff under Act 2, or equivalent certifications from other states.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with a clean driving record
- Familiarity with firearms (NRA/Police Firearms Training will be provided during Deputy Sheriff's training)
- Successful completion of Deputy Sheriff training post-hire
- Must pass all initial and ongoing security clearances as required by CJIS.
