Purpose: Meat Room Lead

The Meat Room Lead will be responsible for ensuring that the Meat Room process goes smoothly and efficiently by closely monitoring and supporting their Meat Room team. Leading by example in all areas of Safety, Quality and Performance is a must. This position will be 90% working on the floor and 10% office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Management: Works closely with Production Manager on setting weekly plan for all meat room shifts.
  • Quality Assurance: Drives quality through monitoring and validating that the product is within standards, checking paperwork, and ensuring the product is correct.
  • Inventory Management: Review current and future schedule to ensure all raw ingredients are on site.
  • Documentation: Create record sheets and blend stickers on weekly basis.
  • Record Keeping: Document run information and review past job sheets.
  • Troubleshooting: Supports troubleshooting of equipment to ensure that daily throughput requirements are being met.
  • Communication: Communicates Meat Room needs with other Production Manager as necessary.
  • Escalation: Notifies Production Manager of any Safety, Quality, or Production escalation issues.
  • Team Leadership: Guides the team to ensure product is produced in a safe, high quality, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Training and Development: Ensures that all Meat Room personnel are trained according to Barrett standards and follows all safety, quality, and production expectations.
  • Performance Management: Provides team members with valuable feedback on their performance on a day-to-day basis.
  • Continuous Improvement: Looks for ways to improve skills and knowledge for self and team in the department.
  • Problem Solving: Helps solve Meat Room problems, looks for lean opportunities to improve processes daily while being a "no excuses" team leader.
  • Teamwork: Respects co-workers in a sincere appreciative manner by having a polite, professional, and positive approach.
  • Accountability: Assisting in holding employees accountable to performance and quality expectations and rewards with appropriate recognition.
  • Integrity: Acts with integrity while working effectively with others and communicating appropriately by utilizing active listening skills.
  • Coverage: Cover Meat Room Positions at needed.
  • Sanitation: Meat Room sanitation as needed.
