Overview

The role focuses on acquiring the necessary skills, knowledge, and expertise to excel as a Beef Shoppe Manager. This position involves overseeing and ensuring that guest service, merchandising initiatives, and operational standards are upheld in the beef and seafood sections to drive optimal sales performance. In the absence of the Department Manager, this role will assume their responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Guarantees that all customers receive courteous and friendly greetings and interactions from the Beef Shoppe team, fostering a positive selling atmosphere.
2. Meets targeted sales goals, manages supply/wrap, shrink, and gross profit margins for the beef and seafood departments.
3. Prepares products for sale, including meat cutting, slicing, trimming, wrapping, weighing, and pricing, in accordance with company standards.
4. Maintains appropriate inventory levels and supplies for the beef and seafood departments, ensuring stock availability through effective ordering.
5. Operates the department in alignment with merchandising and operational protocols and guidelines.
6. Ensures high quality and freshness of products available for sale, confirming that all items are within their sell-by dates.
7. Upholds safety and sanitation standards in all areas interacting with meat and seafood, including preparation zones, coolers, freezers, and sales floors.
8. Provides direction, training, and constructive feedback to the Beef Shoppe and seafood department staff to ensure performance standards and customer interactions are met.
9. Engages in product preparation, receiving, stocking, and customer service as needed to meet established standards.
10. Manages the department's labor budget, ensuring optimal scheduling of hours to enhance sales and customer service.
11. Executes all other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

1. Possesses strong interpersonal skills, effective sales abilities, and an engaging personality.
2. Capable of collaborating effectively with others and engaging with customers.
3. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. consistently.
4. Proficient in reading and comprehending information and instructions.
5. Familiarity with meat and seafood products and their operations.
6. Demonstrated capability to supervise personnel, including training and development.
7. Willingness and ability to learn various tasks and technical job requirements, including computer operation.
8. Must be at least 18 years of age.
9. Must be able to work in a cold environment.
10. Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
