Overview

The role is designed to equip individuals with the essential skills, knowledge, and expertise required to excel as a Beef Shoppe Manager. The primary responsibility is to oversee and ensure that guest service, merchandising initiatives, and operational functions are upheld in the beef and seafood sections to drive optimal sales performance. In the absence of the Department Manager, this position will assume their responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Guarantee that all customers receive courteous and friendly greetings and interactions from the Beef Shoppe team, fostering a sales-oriented atmosphere through effective selling techniques.
2. Meet or exceed budgeted sales targets, manage supply/wrap costs, minimize shrinkage, and achieve gross profit goals for both the Beef Shoppe and seafood sections.
3. Prepare products for retail (including meat cutting, slicing, trimming, wrapping, weighing, and pricing) in accordance with company standards.
4. Maintain appropriate inventory levels and supplies for the Beef Shoppe and seafood sections, ensuring stock availability through efficient ordering practices.
5. Operate the department in alignment with merchandising and operational guidelines.
6. Ensure high quality and freshness of products available for sale, verifying that all items are within their sell-by dates.
7. Uphold safety and sanitation standards in all areas that interact with meat and seafood, including preparation zones, coolers, freezers, and sales floors.
8. Provide direction, training, and constructive feedback to Beef Shoppe and seafood department staff to ensure that performance standards and customer interactions are met.
9. Engage in product preparation, receiving, stocking, and customer service as needed to maintain standards.
10. Manage the department's labor budget effectively, ensuring optimal scheduling to enhance sales and customer service.
11. Execute any additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

1. Strong interpersonal skills, effective selling abilities, and a friendly demeanor are essential.
2. Ability to collaborate effectively with others and engage with customers.
3. Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. consistently.
4. Proficient in reading and comprehending information and instructions.
5. Familiarity with meat and seafood products and operations is preferred.
6. Experience in supervising staff, including training and development.
7. Demonstrated willingness to learn various tasks and technical job requirements, including computer operations.
8. Must be at least 18 years of age.
9. Ability to work in a cold environment is necessary.
10. Physical ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
