Job Title: Project Manager - Mission Critical

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our Advanced Facilities team. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of the company's safety culture and creating awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the JE Dunn prestart process.
  • Support the preconstruction team, including quantity takeoff, trade coordination, and scope of work development.
  • Lead the plan and implementation of buyout schedules, verifying pricing and scope, identifying successful bidders, and managing issuance of subcontracts.
  • Manage the submittal schedule setup, coordinating priorities with the team, reviewing and approving all shop drawings and samples prior to submittal to architects or engineers.
  • Ensure approved submittals are returned to subcontractors and available to the project team per the project schedule and contract.
  • Coordinate with Logistics to obtain pricing on materials and equipment.
  • Confer with Risk Management to ensure approval and/or bonding requirements for subcontractors, reviewing decisions with the project leader and providing ongoing risk analysis of subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including subcontractors, owners, field teams, design teams, vendors, and others.
  • Disseminate change requests to subcontractors for pricing and schedule input, gathering and evaluating subcontractor pricing to confirm accuracy.
  • Prepare, submit, and obtain owner/architect approval for change requests.
  • Lead various meetings, including monthly project reviews, progress meetings, and OAC (Owner Architect) meetings.
  • Complete monthly subcontractor and owner pay application processes.
  • Prepare project schedules with the Project Superintendent, gathering input from the project team and utilizing Lean principles as appropriate.
  • Identify potential schedule impacts, including scope, weather, manpower, and changes, and facilitate mitigation plans for these impacts.
  • Provide written documentation for decisions affecting various aspects of the project, employing current best practices for documentation requirements.
  • Provide regular reporting and analysis to project teams to communicate overall project status and profitability.
  • Prepare monthly cost and margin forecasts with input from the Superintendent and review with the project team, participating in the development of the project budget, and regularly reviewing costs relative to the budget to highlight discrepancies and enable improved financial performance.
  • Lead the overall project closeout process using best practice standards, tools, and processes, including the close-out punch list, financials, subcontracts, warranties, and others.
  • Interface with region/company legal counsel as appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of construction management experience.
Working Environment:
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • May require periods of travel and/or relocation.
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs.
  • May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
  • Assignment location may include project sites and/or in the office.
  • Frequent activity: Sitting, viewing computer screen.
  • Occasional activity: Standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling.
