We are seeking a Head of Legal Operations located in the Phoenix area with the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in legal operations, with a proven history of establishing and managing a legal operations function.
  • Significant experience in developing and executing a comprehensive legal operations strategy, including defining and documenting processes, policies, and procedures to enhance legal operations; creating a framework for legal project management and workflow automation; and managing the legal department budget.
  • Experience in budget oversight and financial analysis.
  • Strong understanding of legal technology solutions and their implementation.
  • Exceptional project management and process improvement skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Willingness to support a hybrid role requiring onsite presence.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA) preferred.
  • PMP, CAPM, or other relevant project management certifications are a plus.
  • Epiq Counsel collaborates with industry-leading clients to support their sophisticated interim talent needs. Candidates must be interested in practicing within an alternative, fixed-term legal services model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the General Counsel and other senior leadership to ensure legal operations align with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Establish a framework for legal project management and workflow automation.
  • Implement efficient and effective legal operations procedures to support the legal department and the broader organization.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance legal processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Define and document processes, policies, and procedures to streamline legal operations.
  • Develop and oversee compliance programs and policies.
