Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Harvard University Dining Services. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing culinary operations, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring high-quality food production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory control, and supply ordering.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, providing guidance and feedback to ensure excellent performance.
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef to develop new menus and recipes, ensuring consistency and quality across all dining locations.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of kitchen operations, including food safety, sanitation, and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless event execution, including catering and special events.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role in a high-volume food service environment.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and achieving results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or related field.
Benefits:
  • $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
