Position Overview

Your Daily Responsibilities

Ensure the accuracy of patient account details and uphold the integrity of patient information:

  • Oversee all patient access operations generally and monitor individual staff performance to guarantee adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Manage critical revenue cycle performance queues that influence claims processing.
  • Act as a support resource for Patient Access personnel as required to maintain seamless business operations.

Execute administrative tasks promptly and precisely:

  • Demonstrate responsibility in managing resources effectively by completing tasks on schedule and utilizing supplies appropriately.
  • Prioritize the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review staff outputs, ensuring quality, meeting deadlines, and compliance with the organization's standard operating procedures. Conduct audits for insurance adherence.
  • Engage in staff recruitment, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain communication with leadership regarding any significant issues that may impact patient satisfaction, service timeliness, or reimbursement processes.

Oversee training and compliance requirements along with necessary audits, reviews, and assessments:

  • Guide teams and individuals towards key priorities, clarifying roles and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate resources to achieve objectives, cascading goals to staff's annual performance targets.
  • Stay informed about changes mandated by governmental and commercial payers, as well as federal and state regulations affecting healthcare.

Manage staff performance and departmental metrics:

  • Accurately evaluate employee strengths and needs, providing timely feedback and constructive coaching.
  • Offer challenging assignments and development opportunities, ensuring metric-based goals are achieved or surpassed.

Monitor and manage patient flow in assigned areas to identify improvement opportunities:

  • Provide on-the-job training for Patient Access Representatives.
  • Address escalated patient and account concerns.
  • Participate in ongoing process enhancement initiatives.
  • Direct and coordinate all check-in, check-out, and financial service activities within the department.

Perform additional duties as assigned efficiently:

  • Engage in departmental meetings and continuing education training.
  • Provide insights to management on process improvement possibilities.

Essential Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of cumulative experience, including insurance and authorization expertise in a leadership capacity. This managerial role will collaborate closely with the team, providers, and clinical leadership regarding surgery, testing, and chemotherapy/infusion authorizations.
