Job Title: Painter

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a skilled Painter to join our team at the beautiful Barton Creek Resort & Spa.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Painter to perform maintenance and light repairs, public area walk-throughs, and daily light checks and repairs. The ideal candidate will have experience with general engineering tools and electrical equipment, as well as a basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Receive direction from engineering management on daily assignments or projects and complete within the time and manner specified or in accordance with hotel needs.
  • Perform maintenance and light repairs, public area walk-throughs, and daily light checks and repairs.
  • Perform daily pool chemical readings, life safety inspections, etc.
  • Perform routine landscaping inspection and repair on the grounds.
  • Perform CARE/PRP to guest rooms and public spaces (paint, plaster, tile, wallpaper, etc.) to the specifications required by Omni in both quantity and quality.
  • Undertake light installation or carpeting (e.g., build cabinets).
  • Repair equipment or appliances in guestrooms or public spaces.
  • Answer room calls through radio from PBX or Synergy system.
  • Assist technicians with electrical, plumbing, or HVAC repairs.
  • Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks (e.g., shoveling snow, leak repairs).
  • Identify and report the need for major repairs.
  • Receive direction for house calls via radio and respond promptly and appropriately.
  • Receive and update work requests from the work request system (Synergy).
  • Complete appropriate documents and logs for work assigned on a daily basis or as a project.
  • Assist engineers and mechanics with repairs and learn while helping with those repairs.
  • Embrace all learning and training opportunities.
  • Have a thorough understanding of Omni fire alarm procedures and other emergencies.
  • Have a thorough understanding of Omni Hotel rules and regulations.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the importance of Lock out Tag out, the dangers of arc flashes, and other precautions that need to be taken around equipment.
  • Clean all work areas after completing a job.
  • Maintain engineering shops in a clean and organized manner.
  • Maintain engineering parts and supplies inventory.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure clean uniform and professional personal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
Qualifications:
  • Entry-level experience as a handyman with basic knowledge of general engineering tools and electrical equipment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to properly prioritize workload in a dynamic environment.
  • Be able to fully understand, read, and write in the English language.
Working Environment:

The Painter will work in the interior of the hotel, clubhouse, and in all areas of the resort. Exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, exterior of the hotel with exposure to weather conditions, and exposure to various hazardous chemicals.

The Painter will be required to wear personal protective equipment when required and may be required to work at heights above 100 feet.
