Job Description

Ashland Golf Club is currently seeking a part-time Line Cook to enhance our Food & Beverage team. If you have a passion for culinary arts and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of a golf club, this position may be a perfect fit for you.

JOB SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the Line Cook is to prepare meals in alignment with our established recipes and health regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Conducting daily preparation tasks and food production.
  2. Ensuring that meals are prepared according to standard portion sizes, cooking techniques, quality benchmarks, and kitchen protocols.
  3. Properly handling, storing, and rotating all food products.
  4. Following appropriate plating and garnishing techniques for all dishes.
  5. Assisting in the development and innovation of menu offerings.
  6. Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area to comply with health regulations.
  7. Washing kitchen utensils, cookware, and dining ware.
  8. Keeping kitchen stock organized at line stations for efficient service.
  9. Receiving stock deliveries from vendors and aiding in inventory management.
  10. Properly closing the kitchen and adhering to the closing checklist for all kitchen stations.
  11. Complying with the club's dress code policy.
  12. Participating in all staff meetings and training sessions.
  13. Demonstrating commitment to the club's success by providing excellent service, fostering positive interactions with staff and guests, and meeting quality, service, and safety standards.
  14. Completing additional tasks as directed by club or company management.
  15. Regular and punctual attendance for all scheduled shifts is essential.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this role:

  1. Ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
  2. Strong verbal communication skills.
  3. Basic culinary knowledge and skills.
  4. Understanding of safe food handling practices and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  2. Prior experience in food preparation and cooking is preferred.
  3. Certified Food Handler certification is desirable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Visual and auditory abilities: reading documents, using a computer, answering phones, and communicating in person.
  • Standing and walking: 75-100% of the time.
  • Occasional climbing, stooping, squatting, and kneeling.
  • Manual dexterity for using phones, typing, writing, and operating kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to lift items weighing over 25 pounds.
