Job Summary:

As a Community Support Counselor, you will work with individuals with developmental disabilities to provide support and guidance in their daily lives. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing and maintaining therapeutic relationships with clients to facilitate learning and growth.
  • Providing positive reinforcement and corrective feedback to promote positive behaviors.
  • Supporting clients in developing life skills, such as personal care, cooking, and cleaning.
  • Assisting clients with daily activities, such as medical appointments and leisure activities.
  • Collaborating with clinical team members to assess and develop individualized plans.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
