The Focus On Renewal Sto-Rox Neighborhood Corporation (FOR) has been a pillar in the community since its inception in 1969. Founded by a coalition of dedicated citizens and community advocates, FOR has evolved to provide essential social services, including food security, nutrition, early-childhood education, support groups, crime prevention, and mental health services. Additionally, FOR offers arts programs for all ages and access to local library resources. With a team of over 30 staff members across multiple locations, FOR is committed to enhancing the lives of approximately 13,000 residents in the Sto-Rox Community through programs designed to foster resilience and community engagement.

Program Overview:
Achieving Change Through Transitional Employment Services (ACTES) is a vital initiative at Focus on Renewal. The Behavioral Health Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of the cognitive behavioral intervention (CBI) component within the Allegheny County Community Violence Reduction Initiative's transitional employment and service delivery program, which is modeled after the READI Chicago framework and developed in collaboration with Heartland Alliance.

Position Overview:
The Community Program Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations, data management, and compliance of the transitional employment program under the Allegheny County Community Violence Reduction Initiative. This position is essential for managing and executing high-level program operations while overseeing staff performance to meet collective objectives. The Supervisor will also be tasked with collecting and maintaining program data to evaluate the program's effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in all required training and professional development to effectively apply principles of trauma-informed care, cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, conflict de-escalation, harm reduction, and other relevant methodologies.
  • Facilitate and participate in regular staff meetings, partner meetings, one-on-one supervision sessions, and community gatherings.
  • Oversee the activities of the Coach, Outreach Workers, and Work Crew Supervisors, ensuring accountability and support.
  • Review documentation from Work Crew Supervisors, ensuring timely submission of reports and feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Work Crew Supervisor to monitor participant work hours and ensure compliance with program guidelines.
  • Maintain proactive communication with the Work Crew Supervisor regarding site operations and participant status.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure adherence to safety protocols and program expectations.
  • Coordinate with staff to meet data management requirements and other operational needs.
  • Monitor staff activities to ensure accurate and timely documentation in data management systems.
  • Communicate relevant information clearly to team members, ensuring compliance with program policies and procedures.
  • Complete and submit incident reports promptly and accurately.
  • Manage all necessary documentation related to participant orientation, case management, employer interactions, and program activities.
  • Work with outreach providers to facilitate referrals and re-engagement for transitional workers.
  • Ensure accurate compensation management for all staff, with a focus on stipend and incentive functions.
  • Oversee the orientation process for new participants, providing clear expectations regarding program structure and services.
  • Facilitate introductions to cognitive-behavioral curricula and personal development activities.
  • Assess participant performance and determine eligibility for program advancement.
  • Foster participant engagement and enthusiasm for the program.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include weekend events.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field is required.
  • Two to four years of relevant managerial experience in overseeing staff and performance improvement in a social service context, preferably with at-risk populations.
  • Proficient computer skills relevant to job responsibilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Preferred knowledge of workforce development and employment services for individuals facing chronic unemployment or poverty.
  • Familiarity with cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care is advantageous.
  • Understanding of local community resources and organizations focused on violence prevention and intervention is preferred.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the program, demonstrating a strength-based, trauma-informed, and inclusive approach.
  • Individuals with lived experience, including those with criminal records, are encouraged to apply.
  • No current group or gang affiliations and no pending criminal cases.

Salary and Benefits:
  • Fixed salary of $55,000.
