Child and Family Services Coordinator

Position Overview:
The role involves delivering extensive support services to families and young children in the designated community, particularly focusing on those with children from birth to five years old.
The Child and Family Services Coordinator adopts a respectful and strengths-based approach while becoming an integral part of the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to Family Support Principles while managing a caseload of 20-25 families.
- Proactively seek out and enroll new families into the program.
- Conduct a minimum of two home visits each month for every family, concentrating on aspects such as child development, parental engagement, health services, nutrition, and family support.
- Offer practical, emotional, and social assistance to families through home visits.
- Maintain accurate data and documentation in compliance with the AIU Data Safeguarding procedures.
- Complete FAST Assessments for the head of household and all children involved.
- Establish individual goals for adults and children, and create a comprehensive family goal plan.
- Perform child assessments biannually (Ages & Stages).
- Input data into Synergy and OCDEL data systems, as well as the Parents as Teachers Penelope Database, adhering to monthly deadlines set by the site director or data manager.
- Keep family files updated and organized at all times.
- Welcome and engage with all families, ensuring positive communication.
- Support families and peers, assisting them in achieving self-sufficiency.
- Conduct resource and referral activities for families and community members.
- Provide crisis intervention and help families build supportive networks.
- Organize, coordinate, and participate in weekly parent support and parent-child interaction groups.
- Foster parent-child bonding among family members.
- Advocate for families with service providers, educational institutions, and relevant governmental departments.
- Engage in community outreach initiatives.
- Participate in mutually respectful relationships.
- Assist in the upkeep and maintenance of the center, serving as an equal member of the family center team.
- Pursue training and resources that benefit families and the team.
- Undertake additional responsibilities to ensure the program operates effectively.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in education, child development, family relations, social work, or guidance counseling, along with one (1) year of experience working with infants/toddlers and families; or an Associate's degree in the same fields with two (2) years of relevant experience; or a High school diploma/GED with three (3) years of experience in similar roles.
- Proficient in current Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication, writing, interpersonal, organizational, and recordkeeping skills are essential.
- Excellent organizational abilities, initiative, and capacity to work independently.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure.
- Capability to track, evaluate, and interpret program data to ensure high-quality services.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Commitment to comply with the AIU Conduct policy.
