As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality patient care to a diverse array of individuals under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.

This position requires familiarity with patient care tasks, accurate documentation, medication administration, health monitoring, and the upkeep of medical supplies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:


Deliver patient care by adhering to Cleveland Clinic policies and procedures, ensuring precision in medication administration.


Maintain accurate nursing documentation, including:
medical records, authorization forms, and laboratory requisitions. Implement pain management assessments and document findings.

Demonstrate an understanding of disease processes and treatment protocols by recognizing changes in patient conditions and reporting critical information to the Charge Nurse or Physicians.

Actively engage in nursing interventions as necessary.

Exhibit knowledge of age-related concerns through appropriate nursing actions as directed by the Physicians or Charge Nurse, with thorough documentation.

Utilize opportunities for health education for patients, families, and others.

Employ suitable teaching methods tailored to growth, development, and age-specific factors, as evidenced by documentation in the patient's medical record.

Participate positively in the orientation of new staff, sharing knowledge and providing guidance when assigned.

Ensure complete and current documentation and records at all times.
Conduct patient education as needed under the supervision of RN/Physician.
Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO. Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited LPN program.

Certifications:
Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
Basic Life Support (BLS)

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred for specific roles.

Work Experience:
One year of clinical experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Essential Duties:
This position necessitates knowledge of all facets of patient care, including assessment, planning, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of patient progress in collaboration with the RN or physician.

Physical Duties:
This role involves frequent walking, sitting, and standing.
Regular communication through talking and listening when providing instructions and explanations.
Frequent use of telecommunication devices, and occasional computer use.

Work is physically demanding, requiring lifting and moving patients, carrying equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance or mechanical devices.

Responsibilities include stooping, pushing, and pulling to position patients for treatment, as well as reaching, handling, feeling, and manipulating equipment.


Working Conditions:
Most of the time, employees work indoors in climate-controlled environments.
There is a significant potential for exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
Clinical interactions with patients necessitate the use of personal protective equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment:


This position involves high exposure to infectious materials, requiring the use of gloves, masks, gowns, and goggles as appropriate.

Adhere to Standard Precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
