As a Patient Registration Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to manage all aspects of patient pre-registration and registration processes in a timely, precise, and professional manner, ensuring that the needs of patients, healthcare providers, and the facility are effectively met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough registration and insurance verification, guaranteeing the collection of all essential data elements necessary for accurate patient identification for registration and billing purposes.
  • Engage with patients and healthcare offices in a courteous, positive, and respectful manner, delivering consistent and exceptional customer service across various scenarios.
  • Adhere to point-of-service cash collection procedures, including balancing, batching, and depositing, in line with institutional policies.
  • Review and rectify error reports provided, ensuring all discrepancies are addressed before the conclusion of your shift.
  • Handle all incoming calls to the department, directing them as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in computer usage and typing skills.
  • Strong customer service abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a public-facing role within a healthcare patient access setting.
  • Familiarity with third-party insurance processes and medical terminology.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
