Network Systems Specialist

Ampcus Inc. is a certified global provider of technology and business consulting services. Our team is looking for an experienced candidate to fill the role of Satellite Network Operations Engineer. This position requires a strong background in satellite communications, network operations, and customer support.
About the Job
This is a challenging opportunity that involves working with complex satellite communication systems, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical assistance to customers and vendors. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring networks, directing repair activities, and performing unit and direct support maintenance on satellite communications equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and directing repair activities for Very Small-Aperture terminals (VSAT) networks to identify and resolve network anomalies and faults.
- Operating and aligning antennas, conducting cross-polarization (x-pol) performance tests, and performing unit and direct support maintenance on satellite communications equipment and associated devices.
- Providing technical assistance to field and vendor technicians, as well as operations center personnel engaged in day-to-day operation and maintenance of satellite communication systems.
- Responding to and performing Tier I triage of the network alarms utilizing available network tools and systems.
- Creating customer trouble tickets on outages identified via network management systems and tools.
- Testing and isolating circuit issues using tools, Telco local loop, and customer in-house wiring.
- Coodinating multiple vendor dispatches for repair at the customer premise.
- Providing customer status of ongoing issues and communicating via phone, email, and ticket notes with customer POCs.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in satellite and IP networking.
- Preferably military satellite experience.
- Experience with iDirect, ViaSat, or other satellite vendor systems or VSAT certification.
- Experience with Cisco/Juniper routers and switches.
- Experience with Multicast over MPLS Networks.
Salary Estimate: Based on industry standards and location, the estimated salary for this role is between $90,000 and $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
