Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Opiate Treatment Program. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of general nursing practices, including record management, medication handling, and administration protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Open the clinic as required and perform standard early morning tasks.
  • Document and address any discrepancies related to Methadone.
  • Review discharge files to ensure adherence to established protocols and accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians to triage patients effectively, ensuring high-quality care.
  • Maintain accurate temperature logs for medication storage.
  • Conduct monthly inventory checks and maintain first aid supplies.
  • Monitor patient urine/drug screenings and manage associated paperwork.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by the Medical Services Supervisor.
  • Dispense Methadone as per medical guidelines.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Required Competencies:

  • Ability to implement care in accordance with standard nursing practices and agency policies.
  • Knowledge of Methadone administration as per physician directives.
  • Familiarity with community resources and appropriate referral channels.
  • Understanding of substance abuse effects and withdrawal symptoms.
  • Capability to maintain licensure and provide necessary documentation.

Compensation:

Starting pay rate is $21.50, commensurate with years of licensure. Eligibility for bonuses may apply under specific conditions.

Qualifications:

  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse licensure in good standing with medication administration certification.
  • Understanding of addiction, detoxification, and recovery processes.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance required.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients and staff.
  • Knowledge of CARF standards.
  • CPR/BLS and First Aid certification, along with Crisis Prevention (CPI) training.
  • Capability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing environments.
  • Medical knowledge to fulfill nursing responsibilities competently.
  • Skills to engage positively with patients and address their mental and physical needs.
  • Commitment to maintaining licensure and credentials.
