Position Summary: This role is integral to our Community Services Division, providing essential support and outreach to individuals in Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) and assisting with daily operations within emergency shelter settings.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with the Community Services Division team to enhance service delivery.
  2. Engage with potential PSH candidates and offer ongoing support to current residents.
  3. Facilitate the delivery of services and meals, including intake processes and crisis intervention.
  4. Assist Case Managers in executing comprehensive case management tasks.

Core Duties:

  1. Ensure the safety and security of staff, participants, and volunteers through vigilant monitoring and compliance with safety protocols.
  2. Respond promptly to emergencies, adhering to established emergency procedures for building safety and client crises.
  3. Conduct screenings, assessments, and crisis interventions, providing referrals to appropriate services such as hospitals or crisis lines.
  4. Communicate policies and regulations clearly to participants, ensuring adherence to established procedures.
  5. Maintain accurate records of participant registrations and volunteer involvement, ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.
  6. Track statistical data diligently on a daily basis to support program evaluation.
  7. Support volunteers by providing meals, hospitality, and assistance with program activities.
  8. Facilitate relocation assistance for clients as necessary.
  9. Manage incoming calls and document interactions in the designated service management system.
  10. Ensure accurate data entry into the service management system.
  11. Be prepared to work in various shelter programs as assigned.
  12. Build and maintain positive relationships with community professionals.
  13. Complete filing of discharged residential client files as required.
  14. Assist with the discharge process for residential clients as directed.
  15. Adhere to all agency policies and procedures as outlined by the organization.

Qualifications:

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  2. At least one year of experience in social work, crisis intervention, or counseling is preferred.
  3. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals and families in crisis.
  5. Experience working with diverse populations and backgrounds.
  6. Ability to engage with individuals in a compassionate and non-judgmental manner.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Teams.
  8. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
  9. Successful completion of background checks and health screenings is required.
  10. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are necessary.
