Position Summary: The Application Support Specialist plays a crucial role in managing Tier 1 applications and providing functional support along with minor technical assistance. This role is essential for addressing a variety of user inquiries and serves as the primary contact at the operational level for the maintenance and utilization of Hormann applications, particularly SAP. This individual will deliver daily support to the manufacturing facility, sales centers, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate interfaces, upgrades, modifications, and enhancements to current SAP systems.
  • Oversee system performance and execute issue resolutions to proactively mitigate problems, ensuring optimal manufacturing and sales operations.
  • Educate end-users on the effective use of SAP and other integrated systems.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and diagnose application and system issues to facilitate seamless business operations.
  • Document modifications in business processes and communicate them to the core team.
  • Develop and implement production-planning schedules and job files.
  • Confirm material availability prior to work-order release.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling using SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Identify and rectify inventory discrepancies, managing a cycle counting process program.
  • Provide assistance to shop floor personnel as needed, collaborating closely with production supervisors.
  • Coordinate material availability with the Purchasing Department to ensure all necessary materials are ready to meet production demands.
  • Proactively communicate scheduling challenges and opportunities across the organization to ensure delivery targets and facility goals are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree; or one to five years of ERP experience (SAP preferred) and/or relevant training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate computer skills with a willingness to learn new applications.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing is highly regarded. Familiarity with the Order-To-Cash process is beneficial.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to complete job assignments.
  • Capability to lead, guide, and assist individuals requiring support.
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent legal resident; H1B US transfer considered.

  • The ideal candidate must be highly organized, self-driven, and capable of working independently or as part of a team; must be solutions-focused and naturally curious.
  • Strong leadership abilities along with excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Must thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.

  • Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities while adapting to changing circumstances.
  • Must think creatively and not only follow instructions but also take ownership of challenges to resolve them effectively.

This role is communication-focused and primarily involves the use of a computer and telephone to accomplish most tasks.
