Kaiser Permanente is looking for a Biomedical Equipment Specialist II.

Position Overview

This role involves the maintenance and support of medical imaging technologies within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Management: Provide recommendations for the acquisition of new imaging technologies and oversee the decommissioning of outdated equipment.
  • Installation and Calibration: Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the successful setup and integration of medical imaging systems, including all necessary technical specifications.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Conduct routine assessments and preventive maintenance on imaging equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Problem Solving: Diagnose and rectify issues with medical equipment, utilizing technical documentation and tools to restore functionality.
  • Training and Development: Mentor and train junior staff and third-party service providers on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
Qualifications:Experience:
  • At least two years of experience in servicing medical imaging technologies, or four years of relevant experience.
Education:
  • AAS degree in biomedical equipment technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Valid driver's license may be required.
Additional Skills:
  • Strong understanding of medical imaging systems and their operational requirements.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinical staff and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with multi-vendor imaging systems.
  • Networking and computer systems knowledge.
  • Certification in Radiology Equipment Service (CRES) is a plus.
