POSITION SUMMARY:
The CNC Machining Programmer and Operator is responsible for developing detailed Numerical Control Programs for CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery. This role involves designing manufacturing sequences and updating programs to accommodate engineering modifications or enhance operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop programs for EIA machines, including EIA/ISO programming or G-code.
- Maintain organized documentation with relevant part specifications.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to establish effective work-holding techniques.
- Edit programs directly on the manufacturing floor using machine-specific programming techniques.
- Prepare and process drawings to support product manufacturing.
- Manage control programs and process drawings, ensuring proper revision levels.
- Create overlays for part inspection.
- Ensure clear communication with production staff to provide accurate programming information.
- Adhere to the company’s Quality Policy and comply with all relevant Quality Work Instructions and Procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
SKILLS, EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in Catia V5.
EDUCATION:
A high school diploma, equivalent certification, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification is required. Two-year vocational training is preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 2 years of N/C Programming experience along with relevant Machine Shop experience is essential. CAD/CAM software experience is preferred. A background in CNC machining is advantageous.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
- Understanding of manufacturing processes specific to the aerospace sector.
- Ability to program, set up, and operate jobs independently, including fixturing and troubleshooting setups.
- Advanced skills in using measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Strong capability in blueprint reading and a solid grasp of GD&T interpretation and application.
- In-depth knowledge of G and M codes, with the ability to edit programs as necessary.
- Proficient in performing mid-level mathematical calculations accurately.
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
- Competent in computer applications.
