Main Purpose of Job:

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing employee safety at work. Their primary duty is to ensure that the company complies with and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OSHA) guidelines to reduce work-related injuries. They set safety standards for the workplace based on legal requirements and train employees to help them understand these rules.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct plant inspections and discuss findings with plant managers
  • Coach managers on safety and policy interpretation
  • Prepare reports and maintain records of all findings
  • Update programs to remain compliant
  • Ensure all annual training certifications are renewed accordingly
  • Maintain compliance in all areas of safety
  • Publish and communicate weekly toolbox topics
  • OSHA Tracking and Compliance
  • Partner with machine operators to transcribe training content into a comprehensive training outline
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in health and safety or 2 years of work experience in a related field
  • Understanding of safety concepts, practices, and procedures
  • OSHA 30 Certification is advantageous
  • Hybrid role with 50% travel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Ability to understand written and verbal communication from the company and supervisor
