Main Purpose of Job:

The Safety Coordinator at McIntosh Box & Pallet is responsible for developing and implementing effective safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for employees. This role involves monitoring compliance with OSHA guidelines and regulations, identifying potential hazards, and implementing measures to mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular plant inspections to identify areas of improvement and discuss findings with plant managers.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on safety policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of safety inspections and findings.
  • Develop and update safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all employees receive necessary safety training and certifications.
  • Collaborate with the safety team to monitor working conditions and address any safety concerns.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in health and safety or 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Strong understanding of safety concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • OSHA 30 certification is highly desirable.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
