Fiscal Administrator Job Description

The Fiscal Administrator is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to financial activities in assigned areas. This role involves administering the flow of monies, developing and authorizing accounting activities, supervising subordinate staff, and preparing and maintaining various financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and review the flow of monies to ensure effective management of fiscal processes.
  • Develop and authorize related activities to implement plans and accomplish goals.
  • Prioritize, delegate, and review financial functions.
  • Direct and perform numerous accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and departmental payroll.
  • Monitor and participate in audits and other projects or programs.
  • Coordinate with different departments and/or vendors regarding fiscal-related issues.
  • Attend or conduct staff meetings to exchange information and attend in-service training and classes to improve professional skills.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of four years of related, full-time equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record in compliance with City Driving Standards.
