Land Surveying Project Coordinator - Full-time

Location: Remote

Required Qualifications:
  • Professional land surveyor license required (preferably in NC & TN)
  • Bachelor's degree in surveying, civil engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least eight years of experience in surveying and engineering projects.
  • Proficient in the use of surveying instruments, software, and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record, with the ability to secure security clearance.
  • Physical capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods and to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel and engage in projects across North Carolina and neighboring states.
  • Strong technical, documentation, and organizational competencies.
  • Adept at identifying potential conflicts and issues.
  • Understanding of underground utility systems and the ability to obtain below-grade measurements without confined space entry.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in operating surveying equipment.
  • Experience with surveying software: AutoCAD Civil3D, TBC, Bentley MicroStation.
  • Understanding of survey data collection principles, practices, methods, and procedures.
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering, architectural, and structural drawings.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and assist in managing survey department operations.
  • Engage with clients, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to define project requirements, specifications, and expectations.
  • Support the preparation of survey proposals, contracts, budgets, and timelines.
  • Conduct research and calculations to prepare for field surveying activities.
  • Perform survey adjustments and analyze field data collected by survey teams.
  • Execute complex surveying tasks, including boundary determination and surface modeling.
  • Ensure the precision and reliability of survey data, calculations, and reports.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
  • Review and validate survey drawings and reports.
  • Manage and maintain surveying equipment, software, and documentation.
  • Contribute positively to team morale.
  • Participate in committees and teams as requested by management.
  • Engage in special projects and undertake additional duties as assigned.
