Position Overview:

As a Patient Registration Coordinator at Altru Health, you will play a crucial role in facilitating patient interactions with our healthcare services. Your primary responsibilities will include managing incoming communications, addressing a variety of patient inquiries, and coordinating appointment scheduling for both physicians and hospital services.

In this role, you will be tasked with gathering essential information from patients and their families to ensure complete and accurate registration. You will utilize various software systems to verify patient information, conduct Medicare secondary (MSP) assessments, and retrieve current insurance and co-pay details.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently registers patients by collecting and entering demographic, insurance, financial, and clinical data into the system.
  • Records and secures necessary patient account documentation.
  • Handles self-pay balances, pre-payment amounts, and co-pays in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Creates and updates patient accounts to ensure accurate service delivery and account management.
  • Schedules patient appointments and procedures, coordinating with other departments to meet the needs of patients and providers.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of third-party payer requirements for insurance verification, authorization, and billing processes.
  • Reviews Medicare accounts to ensure completion of MSPQ.
  • Adapts work schedule to align with departmental goals and patient needs.
  • Performs additional duties as necessary to support departmental operations.

Qualifications:

Education: Preferred: Associate's degree in Healthcare or related field.

Experience: Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.


Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods, with occasional standing, walking, and bending. Frequent reaching and handling of materials are also necessary.


Work Environment:

This role is primarily conducted in an indoor setting, ensuring a comfortable and controlled work atmosphere.


Driving Requirements:

Infrequent driving may be required as part of this position.
