Respiratory Therapist

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for performing pulmonary function testing, troubleshooting equipment, and managing clinic patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory care and be certified as an asthma educator.
Key Responsibilities- Perform pulmonary function testing in children, including spirometry, plethysmography, and diffusion studies.
- Become familiar with CareFusion and Vyaire pulmonary function equipment and assist with troubleshooting.
- Provide pulmonary function training for non-RT staff and become certified as an asthma educator.
- Assist with clinic visits, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and reviewing medications.
- Provide asthma and allergy education to patients and families.
- Review after-visit summaries with patients and families.
- Assist with developing and updating asthma and allergy patient education materials.
- Completion of a 2-year AMA-approved respiratory care program or equivalent.
- North Carolina State Licensure or Provisional License.
- Certification by the National Association for Respiratory Care (NBRC) if graduate.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
