Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist in the Respiratory Care Services department is responsible for administering respiratory care under a physician's order, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, electrocardiograms, and mechanical ventilation for adult, geriatric, and neonatal patients.
Responsibilities
Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy with communication to the physician and healthcare team. Administer respiratory care, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and mechanical ventilation. Perform arterial puncture and analysis, electrocardiograms, and other diagnostic tests as needed.
Requirements
1 year of clinical experience in respiratory therapy, preferably in emergency/trauma. Associate's degree in respiratory therapy required. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and NC Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) certifications required. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
Work Schedule
36 hours per week. Every other weekend. Call requirements: yes.
