As an Educational Support Specialist, your role will involve delivering personalized guidance and instruction to designated students while also supporting the core classroom team. You will collaborate with students to implement their Individualized Education Programs (IEP), utilizing both group and individual teaching methods in various settings.

‖ Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting students in enhancing their community, vocational, leisure, domestic, academic, and social skills.
  • Executing curriculum plans (including on-site and community-based instruction) and behavioral intervention strategies aligned with the IEP/ITP (Individual Transition Plan)/PBIP (Positive Behavior Intervention Plan) to achieve each student's goals.
  • Carrying out job coaching responsibilities by aiding in the training of students, either on campus or at community job sites, focusing on appropriate work behaviors and specific employment skills.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of student behavior as per school protocols; reporting observations to relevant staff and providing recommendations based on these observations.
  • Assisting in the preparation of behavioral reports and daily activity logs as necessary.
  • Ensuring the confidentiality of student information and records at all times.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

‖ Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Active Paraprofessional and/or PPS Certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in an educational or classroom context.
  • Experience with students in a special education program setting is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply basic mathematical concepts.
  • Comfortable driving and/or accompanying students in a van before and/or after school.
  • Valid CA Driver's License.
  • Proficient in computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
