About The People Concern
The People Concern is dedicated to assisting the most vulnerable individuals in our community to reclaim their lives. As one of the largest social service organizations in Los Angeles County, we provide a variety of evidence-based interventions aimed at tackling homelessness and domestic violence.
Position Overview: Housing Navigation Case Specialist
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Department: Housing Services
Reports To: Program Manager
Status: Hourly / Non-Exempt
ROLE SUMMARY
- Facilitate enrollment in the Coordinated Entry System (CES) and ensure a VISPDAT score is obtained.
- Assist clients in overcoming obstacles to securing permanent housing, including obtaining identification, accessing legal support, securing benefits and income assistance, and providing transportation to necessary appointments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of activities in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
- Engage with a diverse client base, including marginalized populations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possession of a valid California Driver's License, reliable vehicle, auto insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or a minimum of two years of experience in case management.
- Proven understanding of case management principles and practices.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Combination of fieldwork and office settings.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and bend; may occasionally lift or carry items weighing up to 35 lbs.
