The Ladders is looking for a dedicated Agricultural Lender to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering new connections with agricultural producers and agribusinesses, as well as collaborating with professionals in related sectors.
Essential Qualifications: A strong background in agriculture is essential. Candidates should ideally possess 3-5 years of experience in lending. A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is preferred. The successful applicant must demonstrate attention to detail, self-motivation, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The role focuses on expanding the agricultural and commercial loan portfolio in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and core values. The candidate will establish and nurture positive relationships with both existing and prospective clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities while staying informed about market trends and regulatory changes.
  • Engage in negotiations with clients, ensuring compliance with established lending standards and policies.
  • Maintain a portfolio of existing clients, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and compliant.
  • Collaborate with Credit Administration to assess loan applications and resolve any queries.
  • Work towards achieving lending goals in accordance with the organization’s growth and profitability targets.
  • Ensure all loans are processed in line with established policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in community engagement initiatives to promote the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Demonstrated agricultural knowledge is required.
  • Previous lending experience is preferred.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong networking capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid mathematical and accounting abilities.
