About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to join our team at Pediatrix Medical Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in conducting newborn hearing screens and educating parents about the importance of these screenings.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct newborn hearing screens in a hospital setting, utilizing video and printed tools to educate parents.
  • Enter patient data and validate hearing screen results accurately.
  • Confirm or reschedule outpatient appointments as needed.
  • Follow protocol for timely submission of billing and adhere to security and identification procedures for infants.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital, company, and program policies related to infection control, safety awareness, and patient privacy.
  • Recognize potential problems and obtain assistance when necessary in a timely manner.
  • Complete company and hospital orientation or classes, including patient privacy training.
  • Meet employee health requirements and maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with infants is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in a hospital setting is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to perform accurate data entry are required.
  • Ability to prioritize daily tasks and assignments is crucial.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays is required.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds is necessary.
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently (95% of shift) is required.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 100 pounds frequently is necessary.
