Role Overview:
Harris County Precinct 4 is in search of a Community Engagement Programs Specialist.

Under the guidance of the Director of Community Programs, the Specialist will play a crucial role in the design, execution, and oversight of initiatives across multiple community centers within the precinct.

This position entails strategic program development and operational support for Community Center Managers, including collaboration with non-profit organizations, local government entities, and community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in organizing events such as workshops, training sessions, and community gatherings, including logistics, promotion, and assessment.
• Develop, implement, and oversee programs that align with the strategic goals of Precinct 4.
• Engage with community members to assess program needs and create tailored solutions.
• Manage budgets for programs, equipment, and support services.
• Oversee data collection and analyze outcomes to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Collaborate with other county departments and community organizations to ensure successful program delivery.
• Identify diverse community groups within Precinct 4 and develop outreach strategies to engage these populations.
• Conduct occasional visits to community centers for training, engagement, and program implementation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree in Education, Public Health, Social Work, Communication, Public Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Two (2) years of relevant experience in community services, project management, or event planning.
OR
• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with six (6) years of relevant experience in community services, project management, or event planning.

• Proven ability to develop and manage programs effectively.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• High level of professionalism and self-motivation.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently with diverse groups.
• Effective strategies for community engagement and development.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual and multicultural competencies are highly valued.

Position Details:
• Regular | Full-time
• Typical hours: 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday

Work Environment:


This role requires significant outdoor activity and exposure to various environmental conditions. It also involves travel to community centers across the precinct. Candidates must be able to work outdoors in all seasons and drive safely. Proficiency in operating standard office equipment and software is essential.

Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds with assistance, carrying tools and materials over uneven terrain, and performing tasks that require bending, reaching, and climbing.
