The City of Tomball is seeking a highly skilled Finance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Finance Department, you will be responsible for providing essential financial and clerical support to our organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the bi-weekly payroll process for approximately 250 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain payroll records and prepare reports as required.
- Provide limited accounts payable support and implement process improvements to create efficiencies.
- Develop and maintain documented processes and operating procedures.
- 5+ years of experience in payroll processing and related reporting.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance.
- Proficiency in payroll software and MS Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
The work is typically performed indoors in an office setting. May rarely be exposed to uncomfortable temperatures, humidity, noise, chemicals/gases, contagious diseases, airborne particles/pathogens, and/or physical trauma.
Physical Abilities:- Work requires the ability to sit, walk for extended periods of time.
- Work requires the ability to complete repetitive wrist, hand, and/or fine motor movement.
- Work requires the ability to talk, hear, listen, and comprehend.
- Must be able to lift up to 5lbs.
The salary range for this position is $48,402 - $72,592, dependent on qualifications and certifications. The City of Tomball offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
