Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ambulatory Practice Coordinator to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. This is a dynamic role that requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate patient care activities, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
  2. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  3. Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
  5. Develop and implement process improvements to enhance patient satisfaction and experience.
  6. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  7. Provide training and support to new staff members and act as a mentor to junior coordinators.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a practice office.
  • Strong knowledge of health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medical Assistance.
  • Proficiency in computer software, including registration and scheduling systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
