Position Overview
The faculty member is expected to fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the formal job description, adhering to the policies and procedures established by the governing board. Compliance with both state and federal regulations is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent, be eligible for a state veterinary license, and have a DEA license, along with three years of demonstrated clinical practice experience. Responsibilities include providing preventive health care to animals in teaching labs, overseeing sedation and anesthesia procedures, performing basic surgical procedures, and diagnosing and treating conditions in animals on campus. This role encompasses 60% teaching and 40% clinical veterinary care.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in the teaching discipline or a related concentration (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
- One year of demonstrated teaching experience.
- Official transcript required.
- Bilingual or multilingual candidates preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Deliver instruction in assigned classes following course descriptions and institutional policies.
- Provide students with a syllabus detailing course objectives and evaluation methods.
- Maintain accurate course records and submit final grades on time.
- Engage in curriculum development and utilize diverse teaching methods.
- Regularly assess student learning and participate in institutional assessment activities.
Institutional Service
- Support the college's mission and strategic priorities.
- Participate in departmental and college meetings.
- Engage in program reviews and comply with accreditation standards.
Professional Development
- Stay current in the academic discipline and maintain required certifications.
- Engage in professional development activities and performance evaluations.
