Position Overview

The faculty member at Dallas College is expected to carry out the responsibilities outlined in the formal job description, adhering to the policies and procedures established by the governing board and complying with state and federal regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or an equivalent qualification, be eligible for a Texas state veterinary license and DEA license, and have a minimum of three years of clinical practice experience. Responsibilities will include providing preventive health care for animals in teaching labs, overseeing sedation and anesthesia, performing basic surgical procedures, and diagnosing and treating conditions in animals on campus. This role comprises 60% teaching and 40% clinical veterinary care.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in the relevant teaching discipline or a related field with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline).
  • One year of demonstrated teaching experience is required.
  • Official transcripts will be required.
  • Bilingual or multilingual candidates are preferred.
