Human Resources Director

Job Summary:
The Human Resources Manager will oversee the daily operations of the HR department, including supervisory responsibilities, employee relations, leave of absence, staffing, and enforcing company policies and practices.
This position reports directly to the Director of Human Resources and works closely with the Vice President of Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the routine functions of the HR department, including supervisor responsibilities, employee relations, leave of absence, staffing, and enforcing company policies and practices.
- Work closely under the direct supervision of the Director of Human Resources and the overall direction of the Vice President of Human Resources.
- Provide support and guidance to HR generalists, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.
- Manage the administration of the Affirmative Action Program's day-to-day functions, including staffing practices, compensation, job descriptions, and overall processes.
- Identify and participate in benefit and compensation surveys to provide analysis and trends in compensation and benefits.
- Manage requests for reasonable accommodation, including related leave of absence, to ensure timely and appropriate outcomes are documented and implemented.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Assist the Director of Human Resources in maintaining up-to-date and accurate standard operating procedures.
- Interview, hire, and train new staff in the department.
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field with eight (8) years of experience or twelve (12) years of direct experience.
- Ability to work with people with disabilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- The ability to support transformation from paper to online forms is preferred.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
