Job Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for delivering HR services and providing HR perspective in program execution and issues.

This position requires an individual with extensive experience in staffing, compensation, benefits, EEO, diversity, and employee relations, supporting and counseling employees with policy interpretation and employee relations issues.

The Human Resources Generalist performs multiple HR functions, including employment, human resources management, benefits, compensation, training, and development.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidentiality and reliability.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills and computer literacy.
  • Work closely with recruiting support to attract, retain, and grow a large workforce.
  • Employ innovative programs to keep morale and employee satisfaction high.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations and company policy and procedures.
  • Performance management, diversity, and rewards and recognition.
  • Effective communications, written and oral, with all levels of employees.
  • Individual flexibility in solving problems, facilitating change, proactive actions, prompt task closure, teamwork, anticipating issues, and working independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct new employee orientation sessions, answer questions, and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Write job descriptions, administer compensation guidelines, or gather data in support of proposals.
  • Conduct salary or benefit surveys, compile data, and analyze results.
  • Administer employee health, welfare, and retirement plans company-wide.
  • Act as liaison between employee and insurance providers to resolve benefit-related problems and ensure effective utilization of plans and positive employee relations.
  • Provide administrative support to the human resources function as needed.
  • Assist with annual open enrollment period for benefit plans.
  • Process monthly billings from insurance providers.
  • Review billings for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Act as a resource for employees to ensure their understanding and compliance with benefit and HR policies and regulations.
  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Develop and maintain affirmative action programs.
  • File EEO-1 reports annually and maintain other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Conduct exit interviews in the absence of a supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SHRM-CP and/or PHR certification a plus.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
  • Minimum of three years' human resources experience, in Government Contracting preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Paycom or similar HRIS system preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior verbal and written skills and presentation skills.
  • Good punctuation, spelling, grammar, and attention to detail a must.
  • Strong interpersonal skills essential.
