Job Overview

Position Summary:

As an Energy Systems Technician, you will be responsible for delivering maintenance and commissioning services focused on enhancing the operational efficiency of refrigeration, building, and HVAC systems. Your efforts will contribute to improved store conditions while minimizing energy consumption. Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee Energy Maintenance Equipment Controls.
  • Program and manage Energy Management controllers.
  • Install and configure Energy Management systems.
  • Optimize refrigeration system operations to enhance efficiency while ensuring proper temperature control.
  • Administer the preventative maintenance program.
  • Respond to service calls to support fellow technicians.
  • Work on a variety of equipment, including refrigerated displays, compressors, condensers, controllers, electrical panels, EMS wiring, case wiring, lighting, HVAC systems, hot cases, anti-sweat devices, and VSD/VFD systems.
  • Maintain and manage inventory for service vehicle stock.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of work areas to meet standards.
  • Promote and communicate company initiatives and process improvements positively to team members.
  • Handle stressful situations with composure and make a positive impact on associates and customers.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and maintain a supportive team environment.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with colleagues, supervisors, and other associates.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in maintenance or relevant educational background.
  • Possession of an EPA refrigerant license.
  • Experience with Energy Management systems.
  • Familiarity with refrigeration systems.
  • Ability to program Energy Management controllers.
  • Proficient in data entry.
  • Willingness to travel independently.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across all management levels.
  • Availability to work weekends and overnight shifts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with a willingness to learn new software.
  • Exemplary customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Professional demeanor, reliability, positive attitude, sound judgment, and the ability to garner support from others.
  • High level of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC expertise with experience in all store equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptability to changes in schedule, processes, and daily tasks.
