Key Responsibilities of an Avionics Systems Specialist at West Star:
As an Avionics Systems Specialist, you will be tasked with diagnosing and rectifying issues at the component level on various avionics units, including Navigation, Communication, Pulse, Radar, Audio, and Autopilot Systems, along with aircraft systems.
Your Role Will Include:
- Executing general avionics support tasks on aircraft, which encompasses the removal and installation of panels and components, as well as repair work.
- Conducting troubleshooting and assessment of systems on the aircraft as required.
- Performing inspections and evaluations of the aircraft and its components when designated.
- Facilitating aircraft movement and verifying system performance.
- Maintaining and repairing shop facilities, equipment, and tools to support operational needs.
- Collaborating with customers in project management, pricing, and support roles.
- Independently managing projects.
- Carrying out any other job-related responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or management.
- Communicating effectively in English (speaking, writing, and reading).
- Utilizing basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
Educational Background:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Training in Electronics or Avionics is preferred. A valid driver's license suitable for airline travel and/or a valid passport is advantageous but not mandatory.
Experience:
At least 1 year of experience working with electrical or avionics systems is highly preferred.

Physical:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Troubleshooting, evaluating, and conducting functional tests on various avionics and instrument systems.

Supervision:
Work under the guidance of the assigned Avionics Team Leader.
Work Environment:
Work is conducted in a hangar setting with exposure to varying temperatures, from very cold to very hot.
Outdoor work during aircraft runs may be required.
Engagement in various positions around the aircraft.

Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
Jacks, stands, lifts, and other support devices.
