About the Position

The George Mason University Office of Admissions is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to support the recruitment and enrollment of graduate students. As a Graduate Admissions Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our admissions process.

Responsibilities
  • Process graduate applications for faculty review, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Respond to inquiries from various sources, providing professional and courteous assistance to applicants and stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date on new admissions initiatives and processes, applying knowledge to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Research incomplete applications for missing documentation, facilitating the application review process.
  • Communicate with applicants regarding their applications, providing clear and concise information.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform work with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with technology and able to learn new systems, with experience in professional business communications and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education, with knowledge of admissions processes and procedures.
  • Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, with ability to learn and apply new systems.
  • Bilingual, with ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
