About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Editorial Associate to join our team. As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for curating content for our online publishing platform, Maydan. Your primary duties will include:

  • Curating articles and book reviews for Maydan's pipeline;
  • Developing and maintaining Journal Roundups and Book Display resource pages;
  • Providing research and editing support for the Maydan Podcast project;
  • Assisting with social media management and academic network development;
  • Performing additional duties as needed, including support for ACGIS events and other Center activities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong internet research and database management skills;
  • Excellent editing and writing abilities;
  • Organizational skills and a strong work ethic;
  • Interest in the mission of the Commonwealth of Virginia's work;
  • Graduate work in fields related to Islamic/Middle Eastern Studies (preferred).

Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, with a maximum of 10-15 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be available to work during the Center's hours, Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm. The initial appointment is for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal based on availability of funding and job performance.
