Position: IT Operations Specialists (SAP Ariba)

Location: Remote

Duration: Contractual

Role Summary:

  • This position is classified as non-exempt.
  • The IT Senior Technical Specialist will be tasked with aligning technological solutions with organizational strategies, primarily collaborating with senior leadership.
  • Serves as the chief architect for significant systems and their components, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of available technologies, tools, and existing frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with functional teams within the IT department to articulate and clarify business requirements, contribute to the formulation of long-term system strategies, and ensure that products and services meet business objectives.
  • Provide strategic advisory support to clients in defining or designing business workflows and identifying enabling technologies based on client specifications.
  • Proactively explore opportunities to leverage technology in business processes, conducting research on technical trends and competitor practices relevant to the assigned client sector.
  • Evaluate immediate needs through structured interviews to prioritize business objectives, consult with technical experts, and develop alternative technical solutions; advise on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impacts on other business processes and system priorities.
  • Coordinate with other IT functional areas to stay updated on project developments and inform client management of progress; conversely, keep the IT group's technology and service managers informed of user concerns and potential issues.
  • Guide, motivate, and direct the technical team to foster a collaborative environment that enables the team to achieve departmental operational goals.
  • In specialized systems (e.g., SAP), effectively configure options to modify program functionalities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 10-13 years of relevant experience.
  • Degree in IT or a complementary business discipline.
  • Consideration for candidates with an Associate degree if they possess the requisite experience.

Experience Requirements:

  • The Senior IT Specialist will oversee a client base spanning multiple countries, divisions, and domains.
  • This role will lead both offshore and onsite teams from service partners.
  • The BSS Run Senior IT Specialist will manage the team and associated delivery activities for Global, Divisional, and local systems.
  • Facilitate collaboration between the Run function and Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) and Regional IT contacts.
  • Provide oversight of business requirements, leveraging strengths from all teams, both client and provider.
  • Extensive experience in SAP ERP environments, particularly in SAP-SCM (Production Planning, Production Execution, and Quality Management), SAP-PTP (Direct & Indirect Procurement and Accounts Payables), SAP-APO, and SAP-Ariba.
  • Experience with SAP SRM is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business users and collaborate with offshore teams.
  • This role encompasses all support-related activities, including accountability for end-to-end support.
  • Regularly report on performance and monitor service-level infractions.
  • Develop new Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and metrics as necessary, working across stakeholders to achieve consensus.
  • These actions ensure the maintenance and continuous improvement of service levels while minimizing issues in day-to-day service delivery.
  • Foster team cohesion and motivation.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage core job responsibilities, escalating issues if service providers cannot meet demand.
  • Plan, execute, and assess work against time, cost, and quality benchmarks.
  • Evaluate and assess risks.
  • Communicate effectively, both formally and informally.
  • Demonstrate leadership and facilitate collaboration among stakeholders with diverse objectives.
  • Understand the significance of your area of responsibility within the organization.
  • Consider client requirements when evaluating proposals.
  • Manage communication and negotiations with suppliers to obtain necessary solution designs and effort estimations.
  • Account for relevant legislation, compliance requirements, and industry regulations.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements and the direction of supported domains.
  • Think strategically, leveraging knowledge of domain needs across clients.
  • Accountable for effective systems operations.
  • Conduct regular service reviews and audit service provider performance relative to SLAs.
  • Ensure compliance with client policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Interface directly with the business to understand concerns, define requirements, engage in testing as needed, and communicate incident status in business terms.
  • Act as a point of contact for audits or Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
  • Collaborate with global teams to identify and execute disaster recovery requirements as needed.
  • Report results of business continuity testing to stakeholders.
  • Manage business and support teams, utilizing effective communication and teamwork to ensure collaboration among all IT teams for the benefit of the organization.
  • Ensure IT process compliance with corporate, divisional, and local policies and procedures.
  • Enforce audit compliance policies and standards.
