Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough analysis of manufacturing activities to identify variances and anomalies, ensuring accurate inventory costing.
  • Analyze monthly cost variances and cost of goods sold accounts to provide a deep understanding of gross margin performance.
  • Maintain and update inventory rates as necessary, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Develop, improve, and maintain product estimating processes to support accurate pricing for standard, custom, and developing products.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Marketing teams on estimating/pricing and cost reduction projects.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries related to inventory, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage local budgeting and forecasting tasks, providing critical support to operations and sales teams.
  • Develop and analyze cost center financial reports, identifying areas for improvement and driving business growth.
  • Support process improvement initiatives, leveraging expertise in cost accounting and financial analysis.
  • Utilize the ERP system (IFS) and related programs to write and build reports, driving data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in financial or relevant business disciplines, with a strong background in cost accounting in a discrete manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting concepts and principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to understand concepts more broadly and strategically.
  • Efficient communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and functions.
  • Advanced level Excel skills, with experience in data analysis and reporting.
