As a Billing Operations Supervisor, you will oversee the daily functions of the Single Billing Office's operational units. Your role will involve managing the flow of account and information processing to ensure smooth operations and prompt resolution of inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide the Self-Pay Follow-Up / Collections unit, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and objectives.
- Assist and direct staff in addressing operational and administrative inquiries, providing counsel on procedures for future scenarios.
- Serve as a communication bridge between department leadership and staff, reviewing questions and facilitating resolutions.
- Mentor team members, offering constructive feedback to enhance professional skills and promote a positive workplace culture.
- Lead by example, embodying the values of UCSF Health and fostering collaborative relationships within the team.
- Develop and implement changes in policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of three years in a supervisory role within a healthcare billing or collections environment.
- At least five years of experience in a hospital billing office or revenue cycle operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, managed care, and commercial insurance regulations.
- Strong analytical skills to assess problems and devise effective solutions.
- Proven understanding of revenue cycle management practices, including billing and coding regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse personnel across various levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.
- Familiarity with information technology systems, particularly Epic systems, is highly desirable.
