Position Overview

The Engineering Support Coordinator plays a vital role in overseeing and managing the documentation processes within the engineering division. This role serves as a key communication facilitator, ensuring seamless interaction both within the team and with external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented individual with exceptional organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of information in the MRP system, including the uploading of technical drawings and documentation, while ensuring updates to instructions or data are accurately reflected.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and uphold standard operating procedures and work instructions, maintaining strict version control.
  • Administer the Engineering Change Order system effectively.
  • Keep the materials and customer specification database current and accurate.
  • Support the Quoting system by organizing quote information and working closely with customer service and engineering teams to resolve any issues.
  • Manage the Engineering and Customer Service Metrics boards, providing insights on trends and collaborating on improvement initiatives.
  • Handle requests, ensuring effective communication and follow-up within the Requests for Information system.
  • Contribute ideas and collaborate with engineering and customer service teams to enhance quote accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, ensuring notes and agendas are maintained as necessary.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Engineering Manager.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in an administrative capacity within a department is required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, particularly in a production or technical administrative role.
  • Strong organizational abilities to facilitate efficient workflow within the department.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing deadlines and requests.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; advanced Excel or database knowledge is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with MRP systems is essential; knowledge of Syteline is a plus.
  • Capability to analyze Engineering Drawings and identify differences effectively.
