Position Summary:
HSMC is in search of an Insurance Billing Specialist for a hybrid role that requires three days in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge and experience with insurance claims, including patient information, insurance ID, diagnosis and treatment codes, modifiers, and provider details.
  • Execute coding and billing functions using a computerized health information management system.
  • Employ a combination of electronic health records and physical patient documentation to carry out billing responsibilities.
  • Submit insurance claims to clearinghouses or individual insurance providers.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Facilitate requests for medical records as necessary.
  • Address inquiries from insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required; an Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Health Care Administration is preferred.
  • Completion of a medical billing program is advantageous.
  • Current Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) certification is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Experience with CPT and ICD-10 coding is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to cultivate relationships with various insurance payers.
