Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Sports Referee to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Seattle. As a Youth Sports Referee, you will be responsible for officiating a variety of sports programs for youth and teens, creating a safe and enjoyable environment that welcomes people of all skill and activity levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Officiate games in accordance with YMCA rules and guidelines.
  • Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency procedures.
  • Develop positive relationships with participants.
  • Set up and take down equipment, reporting any equipment needs.
  • Attend staff meetings and approved trainings as required.
Requirements
  • 16 years of age or older.
  • Current state-approved first aid certification preferred.
  • Current state-approved CPR certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of the sport.
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in officiating.
  • Knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
