Role Description:

As a Youth Sports Coach, you will lead various sports, recreational, wellness, and enrichment activities for young participants. Your goal is to cultivate a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive atmosphere that welcomes individuals of all skill levels. You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality experience for both participants and their families.

Work Schedule:
*This is an On-site, Part-Time/Seasonal Role (2-4 hours/week). Sessions are scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-5pm.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct assigned programs in alignment with YMCA standards.
- Assist in the development of engaging programming.
- Adhere to YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety, child protection, and emergency protocols.
- Promote awareness of holistic health among participants.
- Set up and dismantle class equipment, reporting any needs to your supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records related to program participation.


- Provide essential information about YMCA programs and schedules to members, and refer them to other YMCA offerings as necessary.

- Attend staff meetings and required training sessions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

In this role, you will frequently need to communicate effectively.

Regular activities include standing, walking, using hands for various tasks, and reaching with arms.

Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

This position may require occasional lifting of materials weighing up to 20 pounds.

Qualifications:

- Must be at least 18 years old.
- A minimum of six months of experience working with children in settings such as camps, childcare, tutoring, or coaching.
- Current state-approved first-aid certification.
- Current state-approved community CPR certification.
- Familiarity with culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate practices.

Preferred Experience:

- Experience working with diverse populations (in terms of language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
